VINEYARDS, WINERY, AND WINE CAVE EVENTS
Founded in 1998, Newport
Beach Vineyards and Winery is one of the Best-Kept Secret destinations
in Orange County, California. We are the first within our appellation
to revitalize the tradition of making wine, well established in Anaheim
at the turn of the nineteenth century.
We have over twelve hundred
vines, covering about a third of the property, which produce up to five
tons of high quality red wine grapes. During our annual September
harvest, we pick, crush, and ferment, our grapes to produce a local
favorite award-¬winning Meritage, sounds like heritage, wine. Each
vintage is a blend, using up to five traditional Bordeaux red wine
grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and
Malbec. Summer 2012 marks the release of our first Estate wine using one
hundred percent grapes from our vineyard, cultivated, vinified,
and bottled at the winery called: 2010 OC ESTATE, Unobtainium Meritage Red.
Nestled within the vines is our private one thousand square foot
Underground Wine Cave where the wine ages for two years in imported oak
barrels.
This unique site is located on a private residence above
the Upper Newport Bay and can be reserved, during the year. Among some
of the very Exclusive Special Events hosted in this venue are business
soirées, political fundraisers, charity events, surprise birthdays,
anniversaries, and other distinctive occasions. Our wine cave is
available to entertain groups of twelve to two hundred guests.
Another popular choice is the, Tour and Wine Tasting Experience, where
your group can enjoy a vertical selection of our wines, paired with
Artisanal cheese and more delectables. Our Wine Experts will guide you
during this engaging event, where you will learn about the history of
the property, and the steps to taken to create delicious wine from grape
to glass. The spectacular botanical gardens, koi ponds, vegetable
patch, and the exotic bird aviary are within view when you stroll
through our unforgettable environment.
We are located on the
1,000-‐acre Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and Ecological Estuary.
We support the environment with biodynamic activities including: water
conservation through drip irrigation, largely organic farming, bottle
glass recycling, and Solar Power – for the winery and residence.
We
reconditioned the land for the vineyard with the addition of imported
soil from local construction projects and built a stone path-‐made from
reclaimed concrete-‐that ambles through the property. The grape
rootstock is compatible with our soil. All of these qualities fulfill
the components, which contribute to the terroir of our land and
environment.
